pediatric occupational therapy

Moving Mountains Therapy offers a variety of programs tailored to meet the unique needs of our littlest clients. Our programs include personalized coaching and occupational therapy featuring therapeutic nature-based or community-based practices and activities

Nature is the perfect setting to work on developing skills in a playful, dynamic way full of novel experiences and complete sensory immersion. Our primary aim is to allow children to develop independence in the following areas:

  • Sensory processing disorder/sensory integration

  • Motor coordination/ planning

  • Fine motor skills

  • Visual motor coordination e.g. difficulty with reading and writing

  • Handwriting

  • Poor balance and clumsiness

  • Sitting still/paying attention

  • Limited or immature play/social skills

  • Adjusting to changes in schedule

  • Poor sleep patterns

And so much more!

Nature-Based Occupational Therapy

When children are struggling at home or school, families want solutions that lead to real, lasting progress. That’s why we take therapy outdoors.

Nature-based OT uses the calming, sensory-rich environment of the outdoors to help children regulate their bodies, build skills, and grow in confidence. Many kids naturally feel more focused and grounded outside, which helps them learn and participate more successfully.

Through activities like climbing logs, walking trails, collecting nature treasures, and exploring new textures, children strengthen:

• Core strength
• Balance and coordination
• Fine motor skills
• Confidence
• Problem-solving abilities
• Emotional regulation

At Moving Mountains Therapy, we combine evidence-based occupational therapy with the powerful benefits of outdoor play. Sessions are engaging, motivating, and often feel more like an adventure than traditional therapy.

Each session is personalized to your child’s needs and your family’s goals, helping skills carry over naturally into everyday life at home, school, and in the community.

Mobile Occupational Therapy

At Moving Mountains Therapy, we believe therapy shouldn’t be limited to a clinic. Children learn best in the places where they live, play, and explore. That’s why we bring occupational therapy directly to your child through our mobile services.

Sessions can take place at your home, library, local park, playground, or other familiar community spaces. When children are in environments they know and enjoy, they often feel more comfortable, motivated, and ready to learn.

Mobile OT allows us to practice real-life skills where they actually happen. Whether your child is working on morning routines at home, building confidence on the playground, or exploring a local trail, therapy becomes practical, meaningful, and easier to carry over into everyday life.

Benefits of Mobile OT

• Therapy in real-life environments
• Better carryover of skills into daily routines
• Reduced stress for families
• Flexible scheduling that fits busy lives
• Sessions that feel engaging and fun for kids

At Moving Mountains Therapy, our goal is simple: help your child grow, build confidence, and succeed in the world around them.
